TandCMedia.org
This story was the first story Samantha wrote that was featured as the top story on tandcmedia.org. The story incorporates a popular national news topic with the Otterbein community. She interviewed an Otterbein student who is a “dreamer” and discovered how DACA impacts Otterbein and its dreamers as a whole.
Samantha was able to attend the Fall 2017 Otterbein Board of Trustees meeting where they voted on a 4 percent increase in room and board for the following school year. She was able to interact with Otterbein president Kathy Krendl (retired in 2018) and other board members.
The arts are influential and important to Samantha so she feels inclined to write about the entertainment industry. She also studied music in college so her arts expertise can be an asset for writing stories or anything else an employer would desire.
